Millry Communications signs contract with
Byers Engineering Company for AM/FM/GIS
Software and Services

Atlanta, Georgia December 1, 2005 - Millry Communications in Millry, Alabama has contracted with Byers Engineering Company to provide an enhanced AM/FM/GIS engineering and mapping system.Millry Communications chose to use Byers Engineering Work Order (EWO)â?¢ System and Byers Map Viewerâ?¢ software to improve the engineering process and records system.Byers is providing professional data services to load the outside plant engineering schematics into the new system.

The first of several key benefit areas that Millry Communications will achieve as part of this installation is the addition of a geographic base map for their records system. The selection of Dynamap Street Networks, a commercial data set acquired from Tele Atlas, provides an economical and intelligent geographical landbase with street names and addresses. The new system provides for capturing GPS coordinates and improves access to the maps by users in the office and in the field. The addition of circuit level connectivity to Millry Communicationsâ?? records system enables automated engineering analysis to be performed as needed, such as automated loop makeup and ripple. Millry Communications can also produce output reports from within Byers EWO System on all of its facilities as a beginning point for a continuing property records system.

Byers EWO-Telco package is specifically configured for RUS Independent telecommunication companies. The system assures that facilities are captured based on the latest RUS codes. The facility interfaces allow the users to select the facility characteristics from which the RUS code is programmatically derived.â??Byers has reconfigured its EWO software to meet the specific needs of Independent Telephone Operating Companies. This latest EWO release provides the rich functionality used by the RBOCS and large independents at a lower cost" says Ray Newman Vice President of Software Development for Byers SpatialAge Solutions Division.Byers Engineering Company is providing Byers EWO-Telco package as the platform to engineer work orders and maintain Millry Communications master outside plant facility and land data.In addition, Byers Engineering Company will provide Byers Map Viewer software to enable a wider range of Millry Communications employeesâ?? access to its AM/FM/GIS model for viewing and analysis. This solution offers Millry Communications a robust AM/FM/GIS system to maintain its ongoing engineering and records operations in a seamless mapping environment.
